Sarjant D,
a UK based reggae artist, grew up in St. Catherine, Jamaica. When his family
moved to London he started to pursue his interest in music through the sound
stystem circuit. His own sound “Sweet Success” quickly
established itelf as the people’s sound.
In the early
day he recorded with UK producers Stingray, Gusie P
and Fisherman however it was for Steve King’s
Uptempo lable that he secured his first reggae hit “Licence Lovin”.
In 1992
Sarjant D won best up and coming UK Dee Jay at the
Black Music Awards.
He’s toured
Europe performing at festivals and carnivals with General Levy,
Don Ricardo and Prince Malachi. He’s supported
Gregory Isaacs, Bounty Killer,
Beres Hammond, Richie Stephens,
Bushman
and Luciano in the UK .....
